Site news: Made a YouTube playlist for recommended tracks

By

By popular request[1], I made a big fat honkin’ YouTube playlist for all the “recommended tracks” I put in my review posts: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLoDEyddqg20QRvpq0uvGUPpa29RL08lWf. So if for some reason you want to listen to more than three days of music that only I enjoy, all in a row, now you can!

Some notes about what’s missing from this playlist, since there is a decent amount missing:

  1. I wrote a little code to parse out the links from all my old posts and definitely didn’t verify that it worked correctly on all 400+ posts, so it may have missed some links that I formatted weirdly.

  2. Sometimes YouTube links aren’t available when I make the post so I use Bandcamp or SoundCloud links instead, and obviously I couldn’t add those to the playlist.

  3. Sometimes there aren’t any individual song uploads and I end up using timestamp links into a single video upload of a soundtrack, and I didn’t include any of those because putting full-soundtrack videos in the playlist felt a bit gauche.

  4. Videos expire! I didn’t update any dead videos in old posts when compiling this, and I’m absolutely not going to update any dead videos in the playlist in the future.

But if this playlist sounds useful to you despite all those caveats, it exists now!
