Listening: YouTube (new track), niconico (reused tracks), extracted audio
Credits
Composition: Keisuke Ito (new Switch music and two reused Wii U tracks), Hideki Sakamoto (one reused Wii U track)
Info
I spontaneously decided to listen to the music from the Switch app for niconico, a Japanese video site similar to YouTube, and it was pretty cool! I was pessimistic about ever finding the composer of music written for a video player app, but I searched anyway, and it turns out that the music was by noisycroak: the Switch version has one new full piece and one jingle by Keisuke Ito, and it reuses three tracks from the Wii U version by Ito and Hideki Sakamoto. I like both of those composers! Small world.
The music is all pretty chill and cute electronic tunes, reminscent of stuff like No Heroes Allowed but more electronic. The Wii U tracks all feature recorder by Foo-san, an admin of the site who performed the instrument for site jingles and such.
Recommended track:
- “Terebi-chan Journey” (Sakamoto) has a great break at 1:23
(track title is an unofficial translation by me)
