Info
For this post I listened to what I was lead to believe is audio extracted from the original Japanese version of the game, Fish Eyes II, which contains several duplicate tracks and is missing a number of tracks seen in so-called “U.S.” soundtrack uploads. I have no idea if the English release, Reel Fishing II, has an expanded or replaced soundtrack, or if the original Japanese version also has sequenced music that was missed, or something else entirely.
Here’s more fishing game music! This game has streamed audio instead of sequenced music like the first game, which you can tell from the higher quality instruments and random environmental sound effects in a few tracks. The same piano + guitar instrumentation and ultrachill feel from the first game are back, along with more synths. The synths enhance the vibe of the also-returning tracks that inexplicably kind of feel like they should be in an RPG instead.
Recommended tracks:
-
M09_01016401_0000 is the Chill Zone
-
M13_01016401_0001 has some cool synth noises and I have no idea how this would be used in a fishing game
(track titles are taken from the filenames)
