Here’s an original chiptune single that Tadahiro Nitta tossed up on le Bandcamp last month. It’s the first PC-88 track of his I’ve posted here and I think the first one he’s uploaded to Bandcamp, but he has written music for the system before back when he was a game composer at MICROCABIN. This track wasn’t recorded off of actual hardware like his MSX tunes but rather the web emulated sound player 88play, so I guess Nitta doesn’t have a PC-88 handy (maybe someday…)
Anyway, the track starts off with some heavy techno energy, a little bit reminiscent to me of Jesper Kyd’s Genesis music, before busting out the big melody with nice chords at 1:23. Really fun track! Wonder if we’ll be seeing more PC-88 stuff from him in the future.
