Info

Well here’s the third album. This one’s a little different, in that it features Akihisa Tsuboy as a guest violinist on most of the tracks, so as a result this album has a bigger sound to it than the others. To that effect, there’s also a bunch of reverb here and there and even vox in one track. If “Trussonic but with acoustic and electric violin shredding thrown in there” sounds agreeable, then this may be the album for you!

The rest of the ensemble are the usual suspects: Jiro Okada on bass and Tappi Iwase or Manabu Hashimoto on drums. Like Awake, the physical version of this album includes an extra track not available digitally, “Summer and winter.”

Recommended tracks:

  • Dream divination” has the shredding you’re looking for, as well as a cool short dissonant plucked section and a drum solo

  • Double passage” is one of the random Trussonic tracks I clicked on YouTube that convinced me to check the band out; 0:46-0:56 is extremely my kind of shit
