Info
Zanshin is an incredibly cool electronic musician I’ve just gotten into because of the racing game Lightfield, which reuses tracks he released between 2011 and 2013 for its whole soundtrack. So now I’m going straight to the source!
His music takes inspiration from various electronic styles, but I’d broadly describe it as being either experimental IDM or weird ambient (sometimes both at the same time), with jazz influences and awesome sound design. His first album here is the most “normal” of his early releases, leaning mostly toward the dance music side and not having much of the truly weird stuff we’ll see later
Recommended tracks:
-
“Syzygy In Canis Major” opens up the album with a richly layered, kinda house-y flavor
-
“Lunathotsuki” is the weirder of the two ambient tracks on the album, mostly featuring just some irregular, reverb-drenched chimes
